* TURN MARKERS INTO ENERGY

Live Oak, in conjunction with Crayola, is participating in Crayola ColorCycle, a program designed to repurpose used markers instead of sending them to the landfill.  It’s very simple!  Collect all used or unwanted markers in your house or at work and give them to your students or their teachers, or simply drop them off at the LO Front Office.  The markers can be of any brand and can include highlighters and dry-erase markers.  Instead of sitting in landfills, they will be used to make wax compounds for asphalt or roof shingles.  They will also be used to generate electricity for cooking food, heating homes, and powering vehicles.  Click here to read the letter from our ASB Office or go to the Crayola web site for more information.

* NEWS FROM THE NUTS & BOLTS ROBOTICS TEAM

On Saturday, January 4, twenty students met in Mrs. Boursier’s classroom to watch the worldwide stream of the 2020 Competition reveal. They went to work reading the game manual and spent many hours discussing strategy, reviewing past competitions and brainstorming ideas.  And now we're off! It's 6 weeks of build - working towards our regional competitions in March.

* PARKING CITATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED!

Students, all vehicles parked in the Student Parking Lot are required to have a parking permit visibly displayed on the front windshield.  Vehicles with no parking permit WILL BE CITED!   Permits are available at the ASB Office for $40.00 with ASB card or $60.00 without.  Come to the ASB office for an application.  If you purchase a permit the citation will be cleared.
