Attendance

Attendance

Daily attendance is important to success in school.

Remember - in any one class:

  • At 8 unexcused absences, students may lose credit for the class

To report an absence or tardy, parents/guardians should contact the Attendance Office immediately (excused absences can be verified within three days of the absence).  The attendance clerk is available between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, however, voicemails can be left as well.  Students and parents/guardians can access live attendance tracking via our AERIES online program.  In addition, if a student is absent, teachers can be reached via email or google classroom for missing assignments in addition to student-teacher contact upon return.  To reach the Attendance Office, please call (408) 201-6122 or email avilaj@mhusd.org.

Tardy Policy

Students are tardy if they are not sitting at their assigned seats and prepared for class when the bell rings.  Tardies may also lower the student’s grade per teacher’s course syllabus.  (See additional information below)
