[Updated 1/23/19] News for Seniors and their Parents

  • Jan 30: Gavilan College Application Workshop – Gavilan College will be on campus January 30th for an application workshop and to answer questions regarding next steps. Students interested in attending are encouraged to bring their social security number (if applicable) and their chrome books with them.  Please sign up via Naviance.  If you have any questions stop by the Counseling Office.
  • Feb 3: Senior Tribute Ad Deadline – Senior Parents, the Senior Tribute Ad deadline for the yearbook has been extended to Feb. 3. Don’t miss this opportunity to honor your senior in the yearbook.  Design your Senior Tribute ad by going to the web site http://www.yearbookordercenter.com/ .  Our school code is 7674.
  • Feb 13: Cash for College – All seniors, Cal-SOAP is hosting a second Cash For College event February 13th from 6-8 pm in the Library. We will have financial aid experts helping our students and their families complete the financial aid applications FAFSA/DREAM act.  We encourage all of our students to submit their financial aid application FAFSA or DREAM before the March 2nd priority filing deadline. Computers will be available but students are encourage to bring their Chromebooks.If you have any questions stop by the Counseling Office.
  • Apr 5: Deadline to Purchase Universal Studios Tickets – Tickets are on sale now at the ASB office for the senior trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. Price is $150 and limited tickets will be sold. Last day to purchase is Friday, April 5th. Payments can be taken, come to the ASB Office to discuss it.   • May 5: Universal Studios Hollywood Trip – Buy your tickets now! More details on the trip to follow.
  • Order Now – Caps, & Gowns: Forms to order your caps and gowns are in the ASB office.  Don’t forget to order; prices will be going up soon!
  • Update your Information on Naviance: Seniors, be sure to keep your information updated on Naviance:  enter the names of the colleges you are considering, have applied, to, and have been accepted to.  The counselors will use this information to better assist you plan for your future.
  • Work on your FAFSA: Apply for financial aid to help pay for your college.  Completing the FAFSA form is free; complete your form today!  If you missed the Financial Aid Informational Night at Live Oak, click here to view the presentation.  Also, scholarships are offered year-round so check out Naviance for scholarship information or do your research online.
